It is important to mention that these academic paths belong to the Diplomas coordinated by the Secretariat of University Extension through the University Program for Sustainable Tourism, which contains the different academic training proposals on the subject.

The Diploma in High Mountains began to take place in Fiambalá on Friday afternoon and is in charge of the Faculty of Health Sciences, so the vice dean of the Academic Unit, Lic. Cristina Arreguez, the secretary also took part in the event. of Extension, Eng. Adolfo Agüero and the Mgter. Leticia Gallo, from the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Administration.

“We are launching this project, among other reasons, due to a requirement from the mayor, which is to be able to prepare people to guide and drive high mountain tourists. This could be achieved thanks to the good will of the Faculty of Health Sciences and the collaboration of the Municipality,” said the Rector, who also emphasized the importance of sustainable tourism for the growth of Catamarca and thanked the collaboration of Ursula Díaz, who collaborated in the development of the project.

The Vice Dean, in her speech, stated that “the Faculty participates in the project because of the vision of our Rector but also that of the mayor of this Municipality, so we appreciate the human warmth of the joint work and we are proud to be able to contribute academic capital. We take this as a challenge and a great commitment, which is demonstrated in the quality of our teachers.”

Agüero, for his part, highlighted that “part of our identity is knowing what we are like as a community, because each community is a universe and is special. (…) The University is the conscience of who we are and we have these proposals on tourism, which is essential to promote our development”, while adding that this is just a starting point for many other projects.

Gallo, representing the Faculty of Economic Sciences, in charge of the Diploma in Sustainable Tourism Management; He indicated that “tourism is a vital activity and has a highly significant impact, so we consider not only the economic aspect, but also the training of personnel who work in tourism ventures.”

“Today I thank my friend Oscar Arellano and the teams of the Faculties and secretariats involved.
