Subprefect Javier Yusthy, head of the Osorno Homicide Brigade, reported today about an incident that occurred during a police procedure related to domestic violence. A 38-year-old man was admitted to the Osorno Base Hospital with serious, although not fatal, gunshot wounds after confronting Carabineros personnel.

The brigade team went to the hospital to carry out scientific-technical investigations and interviews, managing to preliminarily determine that the injured man had attacked the police while they were intervening in a case of domestic violence in a home on Viña del Mar street. The man He would have been carrying knives in his hands at the time of the incident.

Currently, the subject is stable but serious and is pending judicial formalization while they recover in the hospital. At the same time, the authorities continue with the necessary steps to completely clarify the dynamics of the events.
