Regional Agricultural and Mayors Forum in Pasto: key announcements for the development of Nariño

The XXIII Regional Agricultural and Mayors Forum was held in the city of Pasto, organized by the Agrarian Bank of Colombia, where important announcements were presented aimed at promoting the economic and agricultural development of the department of Nariño.

During the event, Banco Agrario delivered 14 loans for a total of 768 million pesos, of which three are intended to promote popular economy businesses. In addition, seven compensated rate agreements were signed with the municipalities of Sandoná, Consacá, Arboleda, Taminango, Pupiales, Potosí and Gualmatán. These agreements aim to benefit small and medium producers with low interest rates, thus facilitating access to financing on favorable conditions.

Likewise, four collection agreements were formalized with the municipalities of Guaitarilla, Gualmatán, Magui Payán and Nariño. These agreements will allow the inhabitants of these localities to pay their tax obligations in a simpler and more efficient way.

The website www.larepublica.co highlighted the importance of these agreements. Hernando Chica Zuccardi, president of Banco Agrario, stated: “Through these agreements in alliance with local governments, we will be able to provide new financing opportunities for agricultural businesses in the department of Nariño, with which the popular economy will have greater tools for its formalization and growth processes.”

In addition, the delivery of 22 loans worth $168 million for young entrepreneurs was announced, reinforcing Banco Agrario’s commitment to the development of new generations in the business field.

With this third visit to Pasto, the union leaders seek to consolidate a cooperation agreement to facilitate agricultural and microbusiness development in the region, strengthening the local economy and promoting sustainable growth in Nariño.
