International journalism and tourism seminar begins in Cuba

45 foreigners are registered for the inaugural session, especially from the aforementioned regions, and local delegates, from both national and provincial media (the largest foreign participation comes from Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico.

On the Cuban side, the members of the Circle of Tourism Journalists of the Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC) participate, with representation from all the provinces of this country.

The seminar is hosted by the José Martí International Institute of Journalism, which organizes meetings, seminars, workshops and courses on this sector throughout the year.

During the current Seminar, three days will be dedicated to debates and talks, with the participation of important speakers such as scholars from the University of Ottawa, Canada, the Cuban academic José Luís Perelló, and the director of Technologies of the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur). of this nation, Pavel Pavón.

In addition to academic exchanges, attendees will visit places of tourist interest such as the La Bodeguita del Medio and Floridita restaurants, the Havana Club Rum Museum and the Tropicana Cabaret, and will travel to the Varadero resort, in the western province of Matanzas.
