The Pastoral Care of the Sick dedicates a conference this Wednesday to the work of the Institute of Religious of San José de Gerona

The diocesan delegation of Pastoral Care for the Sick and the Elderly has organized a new conference for tomorrow, Wednesday, within the cycle of Permanent Formation for Pastoral Agents, dedicated to the mission and care of the Institute of Religious of San José de Gerona.

In the session, which will be titled “Relieve pain and sow peace”, Sister. Martha Lilia Herrera, identity director of the RSJG Institute, Sr. Isabel Moreno, superior of the community of the San José residence, María José Ballester, director of the same residence and Esther Torres, responsible for the spiritual and religious assistance service (SAER) of the San José residence, which this institute has in Burjassot.

In this conference “we show the origins of the Institute of Religious of San José de Gerona and our venerable founding mother María Gay Tibau, as well as our charisma, mission and spirituality. We also present our Sisters who were martyrs of the war from 1936 to 1939, because two of them were martyred in Valencia, and the communities that we have had in the Valencian Community and our current San José de Burjassot residence,” indicates Sister. Martha Lilia Herrera, in the same way that “we explain how we care for our residents and how we carry out health ministry or SAER.”

This session concludes the cycle of conferences of the present course, entitled “Consecrated life in the care of the sick and elderly”, which has been dedicated to the institutes of consecrated life and societies of apostolic life whose charisma focuses on the care of the sick and the elderly, recalls Luis Sánchez, diocesan delegate of the Pastoral Care of the Sick and the Elderly.

The conference will be given this Wednesday, June 19, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in the assembly hall of the Archbishopric headquarters at 12 Avellanas Street, and will be broadcast on the Archbishopric’s YouTube channel.
