In a restaurant in Santa Marta, a man identified as Omar Suárez Fontalvo, wearing a t-shirt that read the word “love” in English, stabbed Heiner Enrique Sánchez, allegedly motivated by jealousy. The attack occurred on last Sunday and left the victim seriously injured and rushed to the hospital.
Suárez Fontalvo, known for his violent historyentered the restaurant and stabbed Sánchez four times, who apparently is establishment employee. The victim has children with the aggressor’s partner, which would have triggered the attack. Reportedly, the woman had shared with Sánchez the bad situation she was experiencing with Suárez Fontalvo and expressed her desire to return to him.

After committing the attack, the aggressor tried to flee, but the quick action of the Santa Marta Metropolitan Police allowed him to be captured near the scene of the incident. Suárez Fontalvo was taken to the URI of the Prosecutor’s Office.
This is not Suárez Fontalvo’s first violent act. In July 2015, he was arrested in Fundación (Magdalena) for the murder of Luis Guillermo Hernández Charris in a pool hall, also motivated by jealousy.
The ironic response of the aggressor to the situation was: “Are you interested? “That only interests him and me.” Furthermore, he added: “Sometimes justice is for the stupidest as it exists in this country. “Only if you are a judge or prosecutor can I answer you.”

Police and judicial authorities continue to investigate the case to clarify all the details and ensure that justice is done. Likewise, in networks they ask that instances dedicated to the protection of women that provide support to the partner of the alleged aggressor to avoid a tragedy of greater proportions after these events.
