The Government of Córdoba has allocated $2.4 billion to address the flood emergency that is plaguing the department. This decision was announced during the Departmental Risk and Disaster Council, led by Governor Erasmo Zuleta Bechara, where the scope of the situation was analyzed and actions to address it were defined.

Of the total resources allocated, 1.4 billion pesos will be used to purchase food, hygiene and accommodation kits, in order to meet the basic needs of the population affected by the floods. The remaining 1,000 million pesos will be used to hire yellow machinery, which will be essential to carry out mitigation and recovery work in the affected municipalities.

During the Council session, in which mayors, representatives of environmental entities, control entities, members of the departmental government and relief agencies, the importance of strengthening the banks of yellow machinery and hiring technical personnel to carry out records of the victims in the system was highlighted. RUD (Single Registry of Victims).

Governor Zuleta Bechara emphasized that without the information of the registered victims, the expenses destined to address the emergency cannot be supported. In addition, he asked municipal mayors to prioritize projects aimed at mitigating the crisis and officially report information on those affected in each territory.

The allocation of these resources by the Government of Córdoba is a crucial measure to address the immediate needs of the population affected by the floods and to begin recovery work in the municipalities.

However, the governor has been clear that the magnitude of the emergency exceeds the institutional capacity of the department, For this reason, it has made repeated calls to the national government to provide support and urgent attention to the situation that Córdoba is going through.
