The governor held a meeting with Aldo Fenoglio, owner and co-founder of the renowned Rapanuí chocolate brand, which is planning a large-scale investment in the town of Trevelin. In this regard, Torres remarked that “Chubut will have the most important raspberry plantation in the country.”

The governor of Chubut, Ignacio “Nacho” Torres, met days ago in Buenos Aires with Aldo Fenoglio, owner and co-founder of the internationally recognized Rapanui chocolate brand, where they agreed on an important investment for Chubut that consists of the construction of a plant of frozen foods and a raspberry plantation area that will generate more than 120 jobs.

A significant investment for the province

The Chubut president expressed that the raspberry plantation planned by Fenoglio in Trevelin “will be the most important in all of Argentina”, with an area of 300 hectares, to which “the construction of a frozen plant will be added” for the preparation of raspberries dipped in chocolate from the Franuí brand.

In this sense, Torres highlighted that the project “will generate more than 120 jobs between the people who will employ the plantation and those who will work in the production of the product, packaging and shipping.” Likewise, the Chubut president highlighted that “an agreement will be signed for the company to train local producers” and, in addition, that lands that are currently idle be occupied in the project so that they become productive.

Growth of the region and strategic connectivity

The head of the provincial Executive also pointed out that the investment “is the first that thinks in a logistics cluster where the airport has a strategic presence”, linking it with the resumption of the expansion and remodeling work of the Esquel airport, which was also another of the governor’s announcements in recent weeks. “We think about the development of Chubut and the region from every point of view: that of investments, but also from the infrastructure and development of our air, port and land transportation terminals,” indicated the first provincial leader.
