Reward of $10 million pesos for murder of police officer in Valledupar

The most recent case was recorded last Saturday night, where deputy mayor Nazareth Enrique Amaya Castilla, 38, lost his life, who worked in the Human Talent area of ​​the Cesar Police and had 19 years of service in the institution. police. The uniformed man was shot when he was on the terrace of his house in the Bella Vista neighborhood of this capital.

It was learned that the attack was not directed at the uniformed man, who was on rest, but at a citizen who was in the store in the area where two individuals arrived with the purpose of ending his life. However, this person noticed and fled, so one of the hitmen fired several shots and one hit the police officer who was chatting with his relatives on the terrace of his home.

Amaya was transferred to the Eduardo Arredondo Daza Hospital, La Nevada headquarters, where he died from a projectile to the chest. The man, at whom the hitman attack was directed, was wounded in one of the arms and is receiving care at a healthcare center in the city.

The Valledupar Metropolitan Police, through a statement, rejected this bloody event and regretted the loss of one of its uniformed officers who was enjoying his day of rest.

Likewise, they reported that the person who was injured, and who was the target of the criminal attack, has a criminal record for crimes such as illegal possession of firearms and drug trafficking.

“In this moment of institutional mourning, all members of the Valledupar Metropolitan Police and the Cesar Department join in solidarity with the family of Subintendant Amaya Castilla. “A Judicial Police investigative team will be supporting the investigation carried out by the Technical Investigation Corps -CTI, to identify and capture the murderer, ensuring that he will face the full weight of the law,” the statement reads.

Colonel Alex Durán, commander of the Valledupar Metropolitan Police, regretted what happened and announced tough security strategies to clarify the facts and find the murderers.
