Argentina crosses the borders and closes an important air transport agreement with Canada

In this sense, with the liberalization of flights between Argentina and Canada, connectivity will be increased, expanding operational capacities, generating conditions of unlimited frequencies and adding new destinations through the elimination of current restrictions.

Specifically, upon signing the document, it will be possible to move from a restriction of 7 weekly flights with a maximum of 2,000 seats to unlimited frequencies that each airline will be able to determine according to market forecasts.

Freedoms are also expanded in the ability of each line to decide the number and destination of its stopovers, promoting the possibility that they can choose more competitive routes.

In terms of cargo, a limitation of 26 semi-annual flights is changed to unlimited flights, also allowing the addition of destinations and cargo capacities that each airline will be able to choose.

In addition, restrictions at destination points are eliminated, allowing you to reach more places in our country, not just two, as it was until today.

The measure was made official with the signing of a memorandum, and had the participation of the Secretary of Transportation of the Nation, Franco Mogetta; the Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports, Daniel Scioli; and the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Leopoldo Sahores.

It is important to note that the following also participated: the Undersecretary of Air Transportation, Hernán Gómez; the National Administrator of Civil Aviation, Gustavo Marón, and the National Director of Air Transport, Diego Idiart. In turn, authorities from companies such as Latam, Jetsmart, Flybondi, Sky, Andes, Aerolíneas Argentinas, JURCA, London Supply, AA, and Intercargo were observers.
