Zohar Trío and Juani de Pian will present “Trapalanda”, a musical journey through the landscapes of La Pampa and their ancestral territory, on Sunday, July 14 at 8:00 p.m. at the Casa del Bicentenario de Toay.
It will be an interdisciplinary concert inspired by the legend of Trapalanda, also called the City of the Caesars, a mythical, enchanted place, with magical beings and supposed riches in metals, which attracted colonizers to carry out long expeditions in search of it. According to some stories and records on ancient maps, this city was located in the vicinity of what is now the Lihué Calel National Park. It is the legend of a place that the Spanish could not conquer because it was never visible to them.
Some compositions that will be presented are unpublished and describe our territory focusing on the recovery of sound landscapes as they existed prior to the time of our colonizers and after the change that our environment has suffered due to the total cutting of our rivers. Music and art come together in an ancestral perspective, where nature is the source of creation, with native flora and fauna as a reference for artistic compositions.
In addition, the artist Gaby Ayala will perform several of the songs through her dances and puppets, the texts will be by Josefina Bravo and, as a special guest, Ernesto del Viso will be there. The magical meeting will take place in the Toay Bicentennial room, located at Av. 13 de Caballería at 800, on Sunday, July 14 at 8 p.m.
The room will be decorated with native plants and sculptures, recreating and sharing with the public an idea of what that mythical city could have been.
