URGENT LOAN CASE!: Deputies demand the dismissal of the Minister of Security of Corrientes
Following the meeting requested by the Chamber of Deputies to the Minister of Security, Dr. Buenaventura Duarte, deputies of the Frente Renovador asked Governor Gustavo Valdés to remove him from office, due to poor performance in his position and the consequent loss of authority to continue leading the case of the disappearance of Loan Danilo Peña, whose whereabouts to date remain unknown.
“We demand the dismissal of the Minister of Security Dr. Buenaventura Duarte. Given his performance in the Loan case, from our block we want the minister’s dismissal. It is clear that he did not act as he should have because otherwise Loan would have already been with us and We would not be feeling this sense of impunity given the lack of authority that the police force has in public opinion today,” Braillard declared.
The deputy pointed out the ineffectiveness of the authorities in implementing the necessary protocols and criticized the delay in official communication: “It is the responsibility of all deputies to control and propose superior solutions. We need to know this and the protocol. Why did they relax Why did it take 11 days to give a press conference that only thanked a search that made no strategic sense? There were thousands of firefighters from all over the province and the country, of troops, for the same commissioner to have planted one? proof. If the governor took 11 days to come out to speak, it is because he underestimated the situation,” he noted.
Braillard also expressed his concern about the permanence in the province’s police of officers who do not have the integrity and conduct of police officials, citing specific examples of misconduct: “It is inadmissible that Commissioner Maciel, with previous summaries in Monte Caseros and recently denounced by his own comrades, occupies a public position. Without a change of leadership, without clarifying that there are no other commissioners transferred to smaller towns, leaving our security free for actions like the ones we are experiencing.
The legislator concluded by underlining the importance of political responsibility and commitment to citizens: “It is not a partisan question. It is a question of what type of politicians we want. What answers do they have for citizens who demand the involvement of authorities in the ruling of the solution to this cause? In a context where the discredit of politics grows more every day, how are they going to do so that the people of Corrientes can feel safe again? My job as a deputy is to control and propose. Deputy Braillard insisted that “ministers are not untouchable” and that officials who do not do their duty must be removed: “In this province, an official who does not work has to go.
