Prosecutors from the Life Unit of the Casanare Section managed to get judges with a guarantee control function to impose security measures in prison against Javier Farid Tamayo Gómez and José Gregorio Téllez Gallego.
Both individuals are allegedly responsible for causing the death of a man in the El Encanto village, a rural area of the municipality of Villanueva; The victim’s body was found half buried and showed several gunshot wounds.
The discovery occurred on March 20, 2024; The suspects were arrested on June 17 in Barrancabermeja and Villanueva, respectively, and placed at the disposal of the Eighth Sectional Prosecutor’s Office of Yopal.
On the other hand, Jota Dalel Meche Dedios, who appeared voluntarily, was notified by the National Police on June 17 of an arrest warrant against him. This person is credited with the death of Javier Ortiz, popularly known as “Chorote”, in the middle of a fight. These events were recorded in the guaraperías sector in Támara (Casanare) on May 19, 2024.
The delivery and notification took place at the Ariporo Peace Police station.
According to their individual responsibilities, the defendants were charged with crimes such as homicide, concealment, alteration or destruction of material evidence; manufacture, carrying and trafficking of firearms; and qualified theft.
All arrests were made by court order. None of the defendants accepted the charges.
