PHOENIX (AP) — Christian Walker homered twice, Joc Pederson added a late grand slam and the Arizona Diamondbacks cruised to an 11-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday.

Arizona won two of the three games in the series. They have achieved eight victories in their last 12 games.

Walker got the Diamondbacks’ attack going in the first inning with a three-run hit on a full count. The third baseman found a fastball from Griffin Canning, which stayed in, and sent the ball into the left field seats for his 14th home run this season.

His fifth four-corner hit came just two innings later. Another powerful swing off Canning’s slider sent the ball traveling 464 feet over the left-center field wall to give Arizona a 4-0 lead.

Right-hander Brandon Pfaadt (3-5) allowed one run and six hits, in a job that included three walks and eight strikeouts.

For the Angels, Venezuelan Luis Rengifo is 4-2.

For the Diamondbacks, Dominican Ketel Marte was 1-for-4 with two runs scored. Cuban Lourdes Gurriel Jr. 4-0. The Venezuelans Eugenio Suárez 2-0 with one scored, Gabriel Moreno 3-1 with two scored.
