This Wednesday the Junior de Barranquilla 2024 – II started for the tournaments that the rojiblanco team will face, (Copa Libertadores, League and Betplay Cup). The players met at the Junior Administrative Headquarters where the medical, laboratory and visual examinations were performed prior to the competition.

Some of the Tiburón players spoke to the press after the tests. One of them was Víctor Cantillo, who explained how he trained after the adductor injury that kept him out of the last date of the Quadrangulars.

“On vacation I continued training, I made a plan with the club with the physiotherapist, Iván (Romero) worked with me on it these vacations. It was a grade two tear that was complicated but I’m fine now.”

Cantillo was clear in saying that the objective is to win the Betplay League: “We have no other option to be champions. We missed a nice opportunity last semester. Now in the second we can’t think about anything other than winning the League. In the Libertadores we must go step by step, we will face a tough rival.”

Regarding the new reinforcements that arrived for Junior, he said: “Football is no longer about names but about demonstration. The players who arrived are good. “I ask the fans to support us to advance in the Libertadores and win the League.”

Another who spoke to the media was Yimmi Chará and spoke about the players who arrived: You have to give them time to adapt and be able to add to the team..

Regarding his performance in the previous semester and when asked if he is in debt to the fans, he said: “I don’t know what it means to be in debt, you always want to do things in the best way, sometimes they work out and sometimes they don’t. As a striker, the objective is to score goals and that is the goal.”

Marco Pérez also spoke to the media and was self-critical of his performance during the semester: “I know I didn’t have a good first semester, but I’m going to prepare to do my best and be able to help the team this semester. I am a person who gives my all, I did not have a good semester, I am aware. Now I can prepare and have a nice opportunity to do things right. This is football and everything changes.”
