The company has advanced the improvements of its application during an online presentation this Monday, in which the new GPT-4o language model was also presented, capable of understanding and generating text, image and audio inputs.
In this framework, OpenAI has explained that every week “more than one hundred million people use GPT” and that it has the mission of “making advanced AI tools available to as many people as possible.”
To continue bringing AI to more users, it has announced the arrival of the ChatGPT application to macOS, with a new desktop application for users of the paid version (ChatGPT Plus).
With this ‘app’ it is also possible to start voice conversations directly from the computer. To do this, you only need to click on the headphones button, located at the bottom right of the desktop application interface to start a voice conversation, as announced in this statement.
OpenAI will expand access to the app to more users in the coming weeks when it becomes available for free, and plans to release a version of the ChatGPT app for Windows computers later this year.
On the other hand, the technology company has announced that it will implement more functions powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) for users of the free version of ChatGPT in the coming weeks.
This way, when your new GPT-4o reaches these accounts, users will be able to get responses from the model and the web; analyze photos and create graphics; upload files for the tool to summarize, write, or analyze; and discover and use both GPT and the store where they are available, GPT Store.
In this sense, he has said that there will be a limit on the number of messages that free users can send with GPT-4, depending on use and demand. This means that once that maximum has been reached, ChatGPT will automatically switch to GPT-3.5 so users can continue their conversations.
Finally, he commented on some new features related to the appearance of this AI tool in its web version, which has introduced a new home screen and redesigned the way in which messages are displayed.
