Members of Condon Oil presented a $5,000 check to future K-9 officer Brandon Howell to kick-start the Rony’s Recruit fundraiser. Along with the donation, one gas pump at each of the four Condon gas stations in Ripon will be dedicated to the fundraiser as well. At those pumps, an additional cent per gallon will be donated from June 1 to July 31.

“We just want to give back to the community that supports us,” Condon Oil President Kraig Bauman said.

Howell added that “We really appreciate the attention that Condon Oil is putting on this fundraiser and thank them for their generous donation.”

Ripon Police Chief Bill Wallner noted that nearly $90,000 is needed to purchase and train the new K-9, as well as purchase and outfit the K-9 vehicle, which needs special equipment installed to handle the K-9. Condon Oil kicked off the campaign 10 years ago with a $15,000 donation from earnings from a lottery win and wanted to be a part of the current fundraiser as well.
