Alejandro Tabilo (38th) continues to show that he is going through the best moment of his career. This Saturday, the national tennis player defeated the Monegasque Valentín Vacherot (131°) in the semifinal of the Aix-en-Provence Challenger, in France, and reached the final of the competition. The definition will be against the Spanish Jaume Munar (73rd).

This Saturday’s confrontation had a complex start for the Toronto native. Especially since he fell in the first set. However, he managed to recover and from the second round he showed the best of his repertoire. Finally, the score was 3-6, 6-1 and 6-3, achieved in one hour and 45 minutes of play.

With the results he achieved in France, Tabilo reaches his best ATP ranking. Regardless of what happens this Sunday, in the final, the position he will be in this Monday is unprecedented for the Chilean. In the worst case, he will appear in the 33rd square. If he wins, he will be 31st in the world ranking. In this way, he takes a big step towards what is his short-term goal: reaching the top 30.

“I am very excited to see all of you in the final tomorrow (Sunday). It’s going to be a good match,” Tabilo said in a video posted by the official Challenger Tour account on its X account, after the key victory against Vacherot.
