“There is no emergency situation aboard the International Space Station. At approximately 5:28 p.m. CDT, audio was transmitted on NASA’s live feed from a ground simulation audio channel indicating that one crew member was experiencing effects related to decompression sickness (DCS). “It is not related to a real emergency,” they detailed.

In addition, they indicated that the crew at the Station was resting at the time of the transmission: “Everyone remains healthy and safe, and tomorrow’s spacewalk will begin at 8 a.m. EDT as planned,” they added in the statement issued yesterday.

The news reassured users, who expressed relief from false alarm:
