The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that two reserve soldiers fell in combat this weekend in the northern Gaza Strip:

Captain (reserve) Eitan Koplovich, 28, originally from Jerusalem.

Petty Officer (Reserve) Elon Weiss, 49, originally from Psagot.

Both reservists served in the 129th Battalion of the Eighth Brigade of the Armored Reserve Corps.

According to a preliminary investigation, both combatants died when an explosive device was detonated against the combat tank in which they were traveling.

Two other soldiers were seriously injured in this same incident.

Yesterday, Sunday, an Israeli soldier died, seriously injured last Monday in Rafah, southern Gaza, the military spokesman announced.

The fallen fighter was identified as Sergeant Yair Roitman, 19, from Karnei Shomron. Roitman served in the Givati ​​Brigade reconnaissance unit.

Roitman was injured in the explosion caused, on June 10, by a booby bomb placed in a building: an incident in which four soldiers were killed and six others were injured, including four seriously.
