The Government decided by decree removal of subsidies for electricity and gas for the middle class and low-income users, on the rate segmentation scheme already in force since the previous administration.

In addition, it lowered the subsidized consumption limit for the middle and low income segments. The Government also established new limits for subsidized energy at levels 2 and 3. Low-income sectors, which until now did not have limits, will be subsidized up to 350 KWh per month. Meanwhile, middle-income sectors will have a subsidies limit of 250 KWh

The restructuring of the energy subsidy regime will be carried out in a transition period that will extend from June 1 to November 30with the possibility of being extended later for another six months.

In the Province of Buenos Aires, those who earn up to 2,979,728.50 pesos still have the possibility of requesting the state bonus.

How to go about the process to maintain the subsidies?

The procedure is mandatory if you wish to continue with the benefit. Those interested should enter the website: https://subsidios-energia.argentina.gob.ar/

Before starting, have on hand:

  • The meter number and the Customer/Service/Account/Contract or NIS number that are on your electricity and natural gas network bill. Note where to find the numbers.
  • The last copy of your ID.
  • The CUIL number of each household member over 18 years of age.
  • The out-of-pocket income of each household member over 18 years of age.
  • An e-mail address.
