In the first episode of ‘MasterChef Celebrity’, actor Juan Pablo Llanop starred in an emotional moment when he remembered his deceased grandmother during a mystery box challenge.
What did the actor remember on ‘MasterChef Celebrity’?
For the first challenge of the new season of the cooking show, the 22 participants had to open a mysterious box, which contained various fruits that had to serve as filling for a queen’s arm.
Some of them were soursop, sugar apple, tangerine, plums, chontaduro, guava, papaya, star fruit, tree tomato and cape gooseberry. The latter moved the actor, who remembered his grandmother.
When he saw the cape gooseberry, it transported him to a trip back in time, specifically to a special time with his family member. The presenter Claudia Bahamón instantly noticed the change in the participant’s attitude.
“My whole heart stirred, here she is like my grandmother, you know? Seeing the cape gooseberries takes me back to my childhood”he said.
The actor confessed that she used to make him sweets with this fruit: “It takes me to very beautiful memories, it takes me to the cape gooseberry sweets that my grandmother made. My grandmother died and she accompanies me all the time. She is my angel.”
Furthermore, during the challenge he brought out his skills and did the preparation with a lot of love. He took her grandmother as a source of inspiration and expressed: “Cape gooseberries are one of the most beautiful fruits in this country. It fills me with pride and happiness to be able to cook with everything we have.”
Who has won the immunity pin so far in the competition?
On the first day, Paola Rey managed to stand out among her classmates and was the first to receive the immunity pin, which gives her certain benefits. She made a queen’s arm perfectly with chontaduro.
On the second day, immunity was granted to the Colombian athlete Caterine Ibargüen and Jacques Toukhmanian, who stood out with a cooked chicken.
