The Israeli army reported that 14 Israeli soldiers were injured after a bombing claimed by the Lebanese Hezbollah movement, an ally of Iran, on the night of April 17.

“In the last few hours, several anti-tank missiles and drones were identified crossing the border from Lebanese territory towards the town of Arab al Aramshe, in northern Israel,” the army said in a statement. “Six soldiers were seriously injured, two moderately and the other six slightly,” he said.

Previously, the Galilee Medical Center had indicated that “fourteen wounded” had been “evacuated from the town of Arab al Aramshe, on the northern border.”

Hezbollah had stated shortly before that it launched an attack with drones and missiles against a military base in northern Israel, on Lebanon’s southern border, “in response” to the death of at least three of its fighters in Israeli bombings.

On April 16, the Israeli Army said it killed Ismail Yusaf Baz, brigade commander of Hezbollah’s coastal sector, and another missile specialist, Muhammad Hussein Mustafa Shihour, during bombing raids in southern and central-western Lebanon.

In another attack, a fighter named Mahmoud Ibrahim Fadlallah was also killed, according to the Israeli Army’s version.

Although Hezbollah confirmed the deaths of three members with the same names, it did not offer details about the circumstances under which they occurred nor did it confirm that there were two senior commanders among them.

Since war broke out between Israel and Hamas in Gaza on October 7, Hezbollah has launched daily attacks against Israel, to support its ally, the Palestinian Islamist movement, Hamas.

But the exchanges of fire between Israel and Hezbollah intensified in recent days after the unprecedented attack this weekend by Iran against Israel, which promised to respond.
