The Suez Canal Authority (ACS) reported that its maritime rescue units managed to prevent the sinking of a ship after entering the northern waiting area.

In line with what was reported, the “total sinking” of the cargo ship was prevented. Labatroswhile the 12 crew members were rescued “in a rapid response to the distress call.”

The ship, registered under the flag of Tanzania, was waiting to join the northern convoy to cross the Suez Canal when the emergency was declared. The tugboats reported to the scene Port Said and MasahibIn addition to the boat Bahar 10.

The ships that responded to the emergency were tasked with helping to safely evacuate the crew and helping the captain of the Labatros prevent the freighter from capsizing.

Currently, work is being carried out to inspect the technical condition of the ship by maritime rescue teams, in order to identify the reasons for the incident. Containment measures were also deployed to prevent potential marine pollution.

The ship, 94 meters long, 15 meters wide and with a draft of 6 meters, had arrived from Lebanon and was destined for the Al Adabiya PortEgypt.
