President Javier Milei gave a brief speech at the Ukraine Peace Summit being held in Switzerland, where he called for peace and said: “My maximum support to the people of Ukraine and to my friend (the president of that country, Volodymyr) Zelensky.”
“My utmost support to the people of Ukraine and to my friend Zelensky, we reject any type of violence and war as an illegitimate mechanism to resolve conflicts between nations. War can never be the answer to problems that must be resolved in the political sphere,” he remarked. the far-right president before several world leaders.
In turn, he maintained that “it is an important step for Argentina to be at the G7 Summit and then here at the Peace Summit, after turning its back on the world for decades.”

Milei gave a speech that lasted just over three minutes, in which he also defended the libertarian ideas he preaches, pointing out that they are what give “prosperity.”
“As defenders of freedom, Argentines cannot advocate for anything other than peace between free peoples and nations. As I am a fervent believer in the philosophical awareness of liberalism and peace, I make this brief plea today to your defense, since these ideas seem to have gone out of fashion,” he said.
Milei’s itinerary
The president and his entourage arrived in Zurich, from Bari, Italy, at 10:30 (Swiss time), where they met with his Foreign Minister, Diana Mondino, who did not attend the G7 and was waiting for him there.
Later, everyone moved to the city of Bürgenstock, near Lucerne, where the Peace Summit was held, promoted by Zelensky with the support of the European Union (EU) within the framework of the Russian invasion of that country ordered by Vladimir. Putin.
More than 50 leaders participated in the event, including Rishi Sunak (United Kingdom), Emmanuel Macron (France), Olaf Scholz (Germany), Fumio Kishida (Japan), Mark Rutte (Netherlands), Pedro Sánchez (Spain), Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa (Portugal), Ulf Kristersson (Sweden), Alexander De Croo (Belgium), Justin Trudeau (Canada) and Mette Frederiksen (Denmark).
Also attending were Gabriel Boric (Chile), Gustavo Petro (Colombia), Stephan Brunner Neibig (Costa Rica), Luis Rodolfo Abinader Corona (Dominican Republic) and Daniel Noboa (Ecuador).
Milei was received at the venue by the host president, Viola Amherd, and by Zelensky, with whom he had a warm greeting. The Ukrainian was one of the leaders who was in Buenos Aires at Milei’s inauguration on December 10 of last year.
