The visit of the ship that promotes international Venezuelan peace diplomacy will last until June 19.

Dozens of Cuban citizens visited this Sunday the Simón Bolívar Training Ship of the Venezuelan Navy, which arrived at the port of Santiago de Cuba within the framework of the friendly relations that exist between both nations.

“It is a new experience, it is the first time that we have visited a ship like this and we can have an idea of ​​the dimensions and what it feels like to be on top of a boat,” Fernando Machado, a resident of Santiago de Cuba, told teleSUR.

The citizen commented that the officers gave them a complete guide to everything. “The sailors have given us a thorough explanation of the entire operation and the purpose of the visit,” he said.

The Simón Bolívar Training Ship arrived this Saturday at the port of Santiago de Cuba on its thirty-fourth tour, where they were welcomed with the music and atmosphere that characterizes the Caribbean country.

The 23-sail vessel docked in the port of Santiago de Cuba with 173 crew members on board, including 72 cadets.

As part of his activities, the ship’s commander made a courtesy visit to the city government and went to the Santiago de Cuba cemetery, where he paid honors to José Martí and the leading commander of the Revolution, Fidel Castro.

The visit of the ship that promotes international peace diplomacy led by President Nicolás Maduro will last until June 19 and will include cultural, sports and historical activities.
