Colette Seymore, mother of the missing woman, expressed her concern in a statement, stating that “Taylor would never disappear like this.” Additionally, she commented that her daughter was excited to show her yoga retreat experience to those close to her upon her return. The family is “deeply concerned” for her safety and well-being, and is appealing for anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact local police.

The yoga retreat issued a statement asking “anyone with information about Ms. Casey to contact local law enforcement.” The organization is also actively cooperating with authorities in the investigation. The Ashram has also notified the U.S. Embassy and the family of the disappearance, according to information from CBSNews.

Her family mentions that she usually covers her natural hair with a durag (a cloth worn on the head).

The family of the missing woman scheduled a trip to Paradise Island and Nassau to coordinate search efforts with local authorities, according to NBCNewsThey have also created a public Facebook group called “Find Taylor Casey” to spread information and gather help.

In January, the U.S. government issued a Level 2 travel warning for the Bahamas recommending “extreme caution due to crime.” Travelers were warned that “violent crime, such as armed robberies and sexual assaults, occurs in both tourist and non-tourist areas.”
