Description submitted by the project team. The Lyra residential building is the first project we developed for the developer Maya. Located near the center of Araucária, in the metropolitan region of Curitiba, PR, this development occupies a land of 650.00 m² and aims to guide the growth of the neighborhood that is currently characterized by houses and urban voids.

Inspired by municipal regulations, the building introduces a renewed approach to the city’s real estate market through its concept of vertical living, construction standards and the interaction between the structure and its urban context.

We designed an eight-story tower, with one apartment per floor. On the ground floor, in addition to the private unit, we organized the common areas near the entrance with a higher ceiling to encourage comfortable interaction between the collective and individual spaces. A canopy extends the length of the walkway to welcome and guide residents through the garden, creating a pleasing transition.

A large patio organizes the ground floor unit, preserves the existing trees on the site and maintains a connection with the adjacent vegetation. This design choice creates a unique atmosphere, with the apartment surrounding the garden.

With apartments ranging from 170.00 m² to 250.00 m², the geometry of the tower is shaped by the narrow and elongated terrain. The curved staircase serves as an organizing axis, dividing the spaces into social and private areas. Well-defined sectors highlight the particular characteristics of each area.

In the bedrooms, garden windows provide privacy and introspection, while in the social areas, balconies and large openings create a completely integrated space, merging the exterior landscape with the interior, like a suspended house.

The structure, made entirely of exposed reinforced concrete, benefits from prestressed slabs that provide lightness and slenderness to the building. Contrasting with these characteristics, the aluminum composite material (ACM) and glass provide industrial precision, highlighting the natural imperfections of the concrete.
