Various publishers from the Province of Concepción will meet at the Pedro del Río Zañartu Museum Park, this Saturday, April 27, at the “I EcoFeria Editorial: Books and music in nature”. The day, which integrates workshops, sales stands and live music, seeks to bring together editorial projects that have set their sights and interest on scientific dissemination, environmental education and historical and natural heritage.

The EcoFeria will be open from noon to 6:00 p.m.with a program aimed at a family audience, who will not only be able to learn about and purchase publications with a seal in the environment and sciences, but also participate in free workshops and a concert by the Hualpén youth orchestra as part of the launch of the “Biobío Musical Days” Programof the Steel Artists Cultural Corporation. From 12:00 to 17:00 there will be free access to the heritage space.

“The main objective of the EcoFair, in this first version, is to generate a meeting of editorial projects that are in tune with our interests in the Museum Park and promote that this day has life over time and adds more and more editorial projects with a focus on environmental education and care of the historical and natural heritage in our region. We want it to be an instance in which publishers make their work on these topics known and, through the sale of their work, promote and strengthen the regional publishing industry,” comments Vanessa Morales, Head of the Culture and Heritage area of ​​the Pedro del Río Museum Park. In this first version, the publishing projects Amukan Editorial, Ediciones UCSC, Cooperativa Al Sur del Libro, Tienda Agroculturas – ONG CETSUR, Naturaleza Inarrumen, Libreria Nuestra América and Naturaleza del Sur will participate. Marca Chancho Editions. The publishers have publications and dissemination products on environmental education issues and research on regional and national history and heritage wealth.

The I EcoFair Editorial will have an inaugural milestone, at 1:00 p.m., with the launch of the “Guide to Trees of the Hualpén Botanical Park”, which will be presented by the academic from the Department of Botany of the Faculty of Natural and Oceanographic Sciences of the University of Concepción , Carlos Baeza. The publication, as a field guide and with illustrations by Makarena Kramcsak, raises awareness and shares relevant information about the forest of the Hualpén Peninsula, especially the Laguna Verde Terrestrial Biological Station, located in the Pedro del Río Museum Park Zañartu.

In addition to the tour that can be taken through the different stands of each publisher, the community will be able to participate in three artistic workshops that will be held during the day. The visual artist Constanza Schmidlin will guide the “Artist Book Creation Workshop” (+ 7 years). There are 20 places to be part of this event that invites you to build a folded book that will protect words, drawings and shapes from the experience of each participant. A second workshop will be led by the visual artist Paula Polillana Martínez, author of the graphic novel “El enigma de Pedro del Río”. He “Fanzine comic workshop” (+ 8 years) is aimed at the whole family and its objective is to create a short comic in the form of a magazine. There are also 20 places to participate in it. Both will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Asia and Calligraphy Workshop” (All public) is the third experience in this program and is led by the visual artist and researcher of Asian art María José Inda. The workshop, which will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., has 30 places for those who wish to get closer to Chinese and Japanese culture from calligraphy, as well as from the richness of the collections housed in the Pedro del Museo. Zañartu River.

The “I EcoFeria Editorial: Books and music in nature” adds to its programming the launch of the “Biobío Musical Days” Program, an instance executed by the Artistas del Acero Cultural Corporation and financed by the Regional Government of Biobío. Starting at 4:00 p.m., the public will be able to enjoy a live concert, in the natural environment of the Museum Park, together with the Hualpén youth orchestra.
