The VI Goya Book Fair 2024 will be held from July 5 to 14 at the Costa Surubí Property and will bring together, as in each edition, writers, publishers, booksellers and reading lovers in a space for meeting and cultural enrichment. This Wednesday it was presented at the Capital Government House, with the presence of the Goyan mayor Mariano Hormaechea.

On the occasion, the Secretary of Education, Sonia Espina, was present alongside Hormaechea; the owner of the La Paz Bookstore, Rubén Bisceglia and, representing SADE Goya, Rosita D’Aveta de Vallejos.

“Culture is a state policy in our management and we are going to live ten days in full, breathing reading throughout the city,” the mayor emphasized by way of introduction, pointing out that the aim is for all educational institutions to be able to attend the Fair, even those in rural areas.

After stating that “culture generates development, work and social inclusion,” the community leader highlighted that the Fair is a “space to reflect our identity and that of the artists.”

In turn, he commented that through social networks, a call was formalized to encourage the participation via streaming of young writers, who will join and accompany the event from different parts of the Province.

“We want this Fair to become the most important in the southern area of ​​Corrientes and all efforts are made in that sense,” Hormaechea concluded.

Sonia Espina highlighted that there will be a large Multi-Space Fair in Costa Surubí, a completely renovated place, with 3 auditoriums. “Each of the ten days of the Fair will start at 8 am and will last until 8 pm, with more than 150 diverse cultural proposals.”

Meanwhile, in addition to addressing topics linked to education and tourism, the Fair aims to generate a strong commitment to raising awareness regarding prevention in terms of road safety education and environmental care.

Regarding the grid of exhibitors, we must highlight the Mothers of Pain Foundation (Silvia Irigaray); Fernando Pieroni will talk about “let’s be more animals and less human”; Ley Micaela, with Julieta Prandi and her personal experience of physical and psychological violence presented in her book “I would have to be dead” and Nicolás Cayetano with his work: “No va más…”, which narrates the experience of online gaming and the losses it causes, among others.

Meanwhile, the organization highlighted the formation of a great work team to guarantee the success of the Fair, made up of representatives of popular libraries in the city, to which this year the Los Meridianos Therapeutic Center joined together with the Sanmartiniana associations. Goya and Belgraniana.

Thus, the objective is to give an important space to local and regional authors in this Book Fair so that writers and readers have the experience of the bond through talks, dissertations, workshops, presentation of works and visits that will mark a dynamic in this edition
