This Sunday, the Colombian artist Shakira used her social networks to reassure her fans regarding her father’s health.
Almost three weeks ago, the musician and businesswoman had traveled urgently to Barranquilla, her city of birth, to accompany William Mebarak Chadid after he was hospitalized at the beginning of the month for severe pneumonia.
The 92-year-old journalist and businessman had been admitted to an intensive care room due to respiratory complications. Given the situation, Shakira chose to return to her country with her children and she was seen at the Clínica Iberoamericana day after day.
Finally, this Sunday Shakira shared a few words about it after her father was transferred back to her home. Although she was optimistic about the recovery, she also assured that “the fight continues.”
“18 days ago I arrived in Barranquilla from the emergency room to accompany my father and fight alongside him. Yesterday, thanks to the great human and medical team at the Clínica Iberoamerica, and her incredible strength, I was able to take him back home to my mother’s side, who never lets go of her hand,” Shakira wrote both on X (formerly Twitter ) like on Instagram.
“The fight continues, and meanwhile, that smile of yours, which shines even in the most difficult moments, is my best example. Thank you all for sending me her strength and affection, and also for never letting go of my hand,” concluded the 47-year-old singer and dancer.
