The Ministry of Public Administration confirmed that they detected many employees who were being treated by the same doctor in different parts of Río Negro. Thus, the Government deepens the control of absenteeism in provincial State offices.
“The Medical Boards of the province are under the Public Service wing and it was through them that the first alarms went off. In some cases up to 20 or 30 certificates were issued per day. We found a certificate factory that was sold to the and the public agents who requested them,” Lastra explained.
The provincial government kept an eye on the number of certificates that reached the human resources areas of each ministry, causing marked absenteeism in the work areas. “Presenteeism causes services such as Health, Safety and Education, for example, to suffer,” he said.

Regarding what the correct mechanism is, Lastra explained that “if the certificate exceeds 72 hours of treatment, the Medical Board must monitor it, call the employee who presented it, summon him to appear at the Medical Board headquarters and, eventually, in some cases, go to the home to verify the fact that is notified in the certificate.”
In the middle of this month, Weretilneck sued doctors for forgery and fraud. The provincial government detected more than 20 professionals involved in the issuance of illegal medical certificates and numerous cases of public employees who presented adulterated or falsified medical certificates were also discovered, who will be reported for the crime of adulteration of a public document.
