The investigative committee of the Holy Synod, which is examining the sexual and economic scandals that erupted at the Monastery of Saint Habakkuk, continues today to collect testimonies from witnesses, some of whom belong to the bishop of Tamasos and Oreinis.

As reported by Philenews, due to the fact that some of yesterday’s testimonies contained details that required further examination and clarification, some of yesterday’s witnesses were called upon to testify again today or to provide clarifications or even to clarify certain issues that have arisen in the context of the committee’s work.

It is noted that from the content of the testimonies, in some cases, it is deemed necessary to call those mentioned by the witnesses when an expansion of the list of those initially planned to testify was observed.

This is considered expected but prolongs the entire process.

Beyond the testimonies given by witnesses from the environment of the bishop of Tamasos, the testimonies of individuals supporting the two monks are also of interest.

The highlight of the testimonies relates to the testimonies of the two currently suspended monks of the Monastery of Saint Habakkuk.

If these yield new evidence or gaps, obviously, witnesses who have already testified will be called again.

As is known, the first to testify was the bishop of Tamasos, Isaiah, who described in detail the facts from his perspective, and now remains for the version of the two monks to be heard before the investigative committee.

From the content of the testimonies of the two monks, a supplementary testimony from the Bishopric may be requested.
