In good health, only exhausted and fatigued by the difficult time he experienced, is the rancher Rafael Aronna Vitola, 76 years old, who was the victim of an alleged kidnapping on Monday morning, in the rural area of ​​the municipality of San Diego, Cesar, an area where he was released 14 hours later, according to police authorities.

“I feared for my life, being in the hands of crime you feel everything. There were six armed men who arrived on motorcycles to the farm in the Arroyo Hondo village; Those who once intimidated me asked me to collaborate so that nothing would happen to me, that they would not have me killed. They had a helmet and a balaclava, I couldn’t recognize them,” said the rancher from the Police command in Cesar, where he offered details of the situation.

“After traveling a distance, they abandoned me in a stream that is before the town of Media Luna, they had me tied up and as best I could I got free, I walked for about an hour almost to San Diego, a motorcycle belonging to a man who was coming down because Nobody stopped me, I went to a store in San Diego and drank a bottle of water. Later, a comadre recognized me, took me to his house and then I continued to the farm,” said the affected person.

Regarding this case, which caused commotion among the livestock union and the community in general, Colonel Eduardo Chamorro, commander of the Police in Cesar, assured that the criminals managed to take six million pesos in cash that were in the possession of the rancher for payment. from the payroll on his farm, and the white Hilux truck with plates KZK 853, in which he was transported.

He explained that in this case the police provided their technical and technological capabilities, aimed at finding the location of the rancher. “By activating a Padlock Plan and in coordination with the National Army, pressure was exerted in the area and the criminals decided to abandon the rancher.”

He said that so far the criminal group that committed the incident has not been determined, however, investigative work continues in the area to find those responsible.

For his part, Eduardo Esquivel, Secretary of the Departmental Government, reiterated that the Government of Cesar maintains the reward of 30 million pesos for information that allows locating the individuals who perpetrated this act.

“The operations will continue in the area, the Army and Police are present to continue these operations and find the captures,” said Esquivel.
