Hundred fires– The 300 members of the XVII International May Day Brigade of Voluntary Work and Solidarity with Cuba, who visit this central and southern province, will carry pleasant memories for their 27 countries of origin.

They support Cuba in spaces and programs, rejecting the Economic, Commercial and Financial blockade of the United States Government and the inclusion in the list of countries supposedly sponsoring terrorism.

In love with the territory of Cienfuegos, they shared a Socio-Cultural Project and the José Gregorio Martínez Oleohydraulic Socialist State Company.

Rafaela Valerina Romero, official of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), told this journalist that the visits allow the brigade members to have a general idea of some of the issues related to Cuban Society.

This Saturday they will undertake voluntary work at the Mártires de Barbados Agricultural Production Cooperative (CPA) and in the evening they will hold a meeting with members of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) in the Pearl of the South. They will be fired on Sunday.

Diky Martínez, from the Banana Industry Workers Union, arrived from Honduras and shared for the first time with the Cubans: “Very nice, she confesses excitedly, interesting contribution of her history and culture, of what she lives. It is not like they paint it in other countries, the truth is it is very nice and we are proud to be here.”

Diky reflects on his face the great emotion for this experience with the children at the Guerrillero Heroico school: “They transmit to one that joy and spark that we have to let the whole world know, that there is joy in Cuba, Solidarity, something that touches us the heart and motivates us to return.”

Justin ROCK has visited us seven times from the Republic of the Congo, and studied at the Enrique José Varona Pedagogical Institute in Havana. He believes that Cuba is a country of friends.

“On May 10, he says, we will celebrate 60 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Congo and Cuba. There is a lot of good collaboration in my country, we have Cuban doctors saving lives, not throwing bombs.”

With an extraordinary shine in his eyes, he confesses that he bristles at being in his land, that of Benny Moré, and with the solidarity of friends in Cuba, each one choosing their path and vision to build a better world.
