Valledupar will be decorated with the ‘Jeep Willys Parranderos’ parade

Tomorrow, Saturday, April 27, starting at 3:00pm, Valledupar prepares to experience a tradition rooted in the history of vallenato with the ‘Jeep Willys Parranderos’ parade, an initiative promoted by the Vallenata Legend Festival Foundation since year 2009. This year the singer Iván Villazón leading the caravan as an honoree of the 57th Vallenata Legend Festival.

The ‘Jeep Willys Parranderos’ caravan represents a tribute to the ancient tradition of the legendary parranderos, who used to tour the streets of Valledupar and the nearby towns aboard these motor vehicles, accompanied by typical vallenato groups that livened up the atmosphere with their music and happiness.

With more than 100 Jeep Willys Parranderos on the march, this edition of the parade promises to fill the streets of Valledupar with color and vallenato music. The tour will begin in the Parque de la Leyenda Vallenata ‘Consuelo Araujo Noguera’, passing through emblematic points of the city such as the Pilonera Mayor roundabout, the Parque de los Algarrobillos and the Mayales Plaza Shopping Center, among others.

The parade itinerary will follow the following route: from Calle 12 to Carrera 4, then towards Calle 32 and Carrera 12, until reaching the Los Músicos roundabout. From there, it will continue towards the Obelisk, passing through the Chicha Maya roundabout of the La Popa Battalion until reaching Carrera 23. Finally, the parade will conclude in the Parque de la Leyenda Vallenata ‘Consuelo Araujo Noguera’, where a large crowd is expected. celebration to close the day.

This initiative, which recalls the golden age of vallenato in the 60s and 70s, has been received with enthusiasm by the vallenato community, establishing itself as one of the most anticipated events of the year.
