April 26 is a very special date in Colombia, because we commemorate the Day of Secretaries, paying tribute to the valuable work of the servants who perform secretarial functions in public and private entities, who with their dedication, discretion , patience, kindness, professionalism and dedication, contribute every day to the fulfillment of institutional objectives.
Although the majority of people in Colombia believe that the secretarial position is exclusively for women, since ancient times the opposite has been proven. In different civilizations and eras there are traits and situations that lead us to know the past of the man who performed secretarial work.
In 1950, the first Professional Secretarial Certificate was created, achieving a high level of excellence in the profession.
After years of revolutions regarding Social Rights, in 1980 the work of the secretariat began to expand and gain more strength.
The technological revolution creates more responsibilities for the secretary. People are no longer hired only to take notes and answer the phone, now this work is at the forefront of technology.
