The Bogotá Metropolitan Police provided details about how the family network that was dedicated to counterfeiting medicines operated in the Colombian capital. This criminal structure has been operating in clandestine laboratories for six years.
According to the authorities, These criminals counterfeited medicines even with white cement. In addition, it was learned that they did not only operate in Bogotá. Therefore, the criminal organization would have a wide market in different cities of the country.
According to the Police, the owners of the drugstores that sold these fake medications They changed the company name, the addresses of the establishments and even canceled business registrations.in order to mislead the authorities.
Thanks to the operation, the ownership of 20 properties, four drugstores where they distributed and twelve apartments where they manufactured the medicines, was achieved in the towns of Kennedy, Bosa, Engativá, Ciudad Bolívar, Rafael Uribe Uribe, Tunjuelito, San Cristóbal and Puente Aranda.
