During the weekend of April 26, 27 and 28, the 21st National Assembly of the Argentine Community Radio Forum (Farco) will take place, in which more than 100 popular communicators will participate, representing 90 community radio stations from across the country. The annual meeting of the national radio network will be at the Casa Ceferino Namuncurá in La Plata where a balance of the past year will be made, the lines of work and an action plan for the following months will be defined, and radio experiences will be shared Argentine communities.
At the opening of the Assembly, Juan Salvador Delú, president of FARCO, expressed: “Thank you for the effort of coming. These are complicated times, but the meeting for an organization like Farco that we need to think, interpret that reality and put together a response action plan is necessary.” “These are times to get together, be close and see how we can make things a little better,” he highlighted.
Community Radio La Ranchada is participating in the annual assembly, so we contacted Emilia Calderon, Host of LHVB and member of FARCO, to tell us what is happening in this new assembly. From La Plata, Emilia assured that they have already begun to work and plan what is coming for this year. In addition, she explained that “This assembly is special because on Sunday there are elections where the national board of FARCO is renewed.”
