Huila Police captured two people convicted of drug trafficking in Garzón

In a search and raid operation carried out in the Julio Bahamón neighborhood, the Huila authorities managed to capture two people identified as ‘Oswaldo’ and ‘Angie’.

This couple, linked to the criminal structure known as the ‘Fugitives’was dismantled in 2020 due to its involvement in crimes of drug trafficking, conspiracy to commit a crime, and qualified and aggravated robbery.

Garzón-Huila became the epicenter of these investigations, the result of the arduous work carried out by the Criminal Investigation Section in collaboration with the Attorney General’s Office. The capture of this couple, carried out yesterday, represents a significant blow against crime in the diocesan capital of Huila.

Alias ​​’Oswaldo’ and ‘Angie’ were arrested after a meticulous operation that culminated in the search of their residence in the Julio Bahamón neighborhood.. According to the Police, these individuals, who were part of the criminal organization ‘Los Fugitivos’, were dedicated to drug trafficking and the theft of motorcycles using various criminal modalities.

Both were transferred to the Garzón penitentiary and management center, where they will serve a sentence of 5 years and 4 months in prison.. Colonel William Lara, commander of the Huila Police Department, highlighted that these arrests are the result of the commitment and tireless work of the judicial police and intelligence in the fight against criminal structures that threaten security and citizen coexistence in the municipalities.
