Emiliano Olmos Prieto, the child accordion player from the municipality of Maní, qualified for the semifinals in the Children’s Accordion Player category at the Vallenata Legend Festival, an event that takes place in Valledupar until May 4.

Without leaving aside his llanero hat, Emiliano, with a score of 4,800, is in third place in the first round in the typical traditional Vallenato music contest in the children’s category of the 57th version of the Leyenda Vallenata, a stage in which dozens of children They have the dream of being kings of the accordion.

Emiliano, 12 years old, has been practicing the instrument for 6 years, with which he says he is in love, a passion driven by his father who taught him the art. He currently lives in Tunja and every weekend he travels to the city of Bogotá to take his classes at school. Río Grande, by Carlos Vives, who has given him all the confidence and with whom he has shared several stages.

Three years ago Emiliano took a walk along the coast and upon his arrival in Valledupar he set the goal of participating in the most important Vallenato music festival in Colombia.

It is the third time he participates, he says that with his parents he gets nervous but they are his greatest motivation for the love and support they have given him to promote his musical career.

On the first occasion he did not qualify, the previous year he qualified for the final and he hopes that this year he can be crowned the king of the accordion.

With the plain hat in his heart, he said he represented Casanare worldwide, so he trusts that the Department will continue to support him with his career.
