In the facilities of the Montessori Cultural Center in El Banco, Magdalena, the first Municipal Social Policy Council was held, convened by Mayor Ronald Flórez in coordination with the ICBF, the National Police and with the participation of residents and social leaders. .

During this meeting, the socialization of the Multiannual Investment Plan and the presentation of the Development Plan were highlighted, as well as the discussion on the Subsidy of the Citizen Income, Senior Citizens and Youth Income programs. In addition, key aspects such as the School Feeding Plan (PAE) contract and the School Transportation contract were reviewed. One of the outstanding points was the unanimous approval for the creation of the School Coexistence Committee, a measure aimed at promoting a safe school environment.

In order to work in a coordinated manner, the first Municipal Social Policy Council had the participation of the Coordinator of the ICBF Zonal El Banco, Melissa Arraut; the Municipal Representative, Juana Pérez; and the Police Station Commander, Yonatan Valderrama, where specific commitments were established that will be monitored.

Participants emphasized the importance of addressing social disparities in a comprehensive and effective manner, recognizing the need to promote support programs for vulnerable groups, promote social inclusion and improve the quality of life in El Banco.

Mayor Ronald Flórez, at the end of the meeting, highlighted the importance of the Municipal Social Policy Council as a step forward in the municipality’s commitment to equitable progress. “This platform allows us to join forces, take advantage of resources and guarantee that no voice goes unheard in the search for a fairer and more prosperous municipality for all,” said Flórez, underlining the importance of citizen participation in decision-making.
