For some of the soldiers it was a mission they had already carried out two years ago. The pain that the Riscarralda families relive was still present in their memories. Especially the uniformed professional Yemid Elías Romaña remembers that in February 2022, while he sat down to take a break, nostalgia invaded him and his sadness became an image that went around the country. For him, being here today is experiencing the same “chaos” where human lives were lost and several people were affected.
«I remember that we responded to the call, we arrived just like today. We find what we see and we help families… It affects you as a population and us as a Public Force in one way or another.“We are with you, your Army is with you,” said the professional Romaña soldier.
For his part, one of the young men who is providing his military service, since he arrived, did not hesitate to enter the point of disaster to help in the search for the young woman who was missing. “Here we are working, the search for the missing girl has been very hard, we are shoveling,” said soldier Palacios Díaz Arístides.
