Almost four months after arrangements were announced, The Paso Córdoba bridge only adds deterioration.
Rionegrina Road yesterday repeated the promise of reparationsin the midst of the reactivation of messages of concern from users of Route 6, in the southern area of Roca.
Over the past few days, signs of abandonment have increased, with railings shifting and cracks growing in the joints.
A decadent postcard completes that scenario: the cracks are now filled with earth.
“We are going to repair the railings due to administration and we also continue with the repair of the joints,” The head of Rionegrina Roads, Raúl Grun, responded yesterday to a query from RÍO NEGRO Newspaper.
In February, when a report was released that guaranteed the good structural health of the bridge, the provincial body also announced that they would carry out different tasks to improve the passability and safety conditions of the passage over the Negro River.
Coming into the first half of the year, concern persists among the residents of the Paso Córdoba neighborhood and the people who cross the bridge daily for work or recreation. Standing on the bridge while the sand trucks pass by, sometimes even several at a time, is a challenge of balance and courage, since the structure shakes noticeably.
This Tuesday it was seen a danger tape on one of the sections of bridge railingswhich is misaligned and threatens to fall into the void, posing a significant risk to pedestrians passing by.
On the other hand, in one of the joints of the bearing folder there is an important gapwhich was covered in the last few hours with asphalt material, but which constantly reappears due to the passage of vehicles and the rain.
Other unions were covered this Tuesday with a mixture of sand and earth of doubtful durability, that must face the incessant traffic of heavy vehicles.
