The campaign “Revaluing the urban train as a means of transportation” will be launched this week in educational establishments in the city of Salta to transmit to students information about safety measures and the operation of this means of urban transportation. It is promoted by the Planning Secretariat through the Railway Projects Unit, the Railway Operating Company and the Ministry of Education.
The first talk will be given this Thursday 6 to 100 students from 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grade of the Rivadavia school. On Friday, as a culmination of the training, the children and their teachers will travel to Cerrillos on the Gesta Gaucha urban train that will depart at 9 from the Balcarce street station. The idea is that they can transfer what they learn in the classroom by knowing railway crossings, signaling elements, how barriers work, among other points.
Details of the campaign were defined in a work meeting that was held at the Capital train station and in which officials from the organizations involved participated. “It consists of educational talks and study trips for primary school students, for the knowledge and dissemination of railway safety measures on public roads,” said Victoria Fernández Molina, head of the Railway Projects Unit.
This month, talks will also be given to primary students from the Patricio Sosa schools in the Castañares neighborhood and San Martín in the Salta macrocenter.
