The Camino Conin Rosario Foundation confirmed that they received 10 thousand kilos of milk, sent by the Ministry of Human Capital of the Nation after the controversy over having retained millions of kilos of food in warehouses. This is the first batch of food that will be distributed starting this Thursday to dining rooms and picnic areas in the city’s needy neighborhoods.
After what was the controversy unleashed at the national level and the intervention of Justice, the logistics chosen by the government for the distribution began to be carried out throughout the country’s geography.
It must be remembered that it was the presidential spokesman himself, Manuel Adorni, who admitted on May 23 that there were five million kilos of food destined for the canteens without being distributed in the warehouses of the Ministry of Human Capital and argued that this was a product of the previous poor management and the presence of “trout eaters”.
“The Camino Conin Rosario Foundation announces that today it has received 10,000 kilos of milk, sent by the Ministry of Human Capital and that they will begin to be distributed starting tomorrow (Thursday) to canteens and picnic areas endorsed by Human Capital,” states the official statement.
This is possible after the Federal Court of Appeals confirmed the ruling of federal judge Sebastián Casanello, who ordered the preparation of a plan for the immediate distribution of stored food for soup kitchens and picnic areas.
The federal judge had given a period of 72 hours to develop that plan, which the national government did not comply with. In the last few hours, news began to arrive about the distribution of some of the withheld food.
For her part, the Minister of Human Capital, Sandra Pettovello, was summoned to the Chamber of Deputies of the Nation to give explanations for the delay in the delivery of food to soup kitchens. The Social Action and Public Health commission summoned her for next Tuesday, June 11 at 1:30 p.m.
How is the operation
The Ministry of Human Capital announced that this Tuesday the operation will begin to distribute the food collected in the warehouses located in Villa Martelli, Buenos Aires, and in Tafí Viejo, Tucumán.
The portfolio signed an agreement with the Conin Foundation so that, through 64 distribution centers, its dining rooms and picnic areas, it facilitates the provision of more than 465 thousand kilos of powdered milk to vulnerable social sectors.
The delivery of the merchandise will last two weeks, taking into account the expiration dates of the products. According to the statement, “to guarantee a
“fast logistics without intermediaries”, the operation will have the collaboration of the Argentine Army and the Ministry of Defense.
Conin will be in charge of certifying, through the presentation of reports, the periodic progress and, in a final report, the effective use of food by the canteens.
