Thousands of Salteños appreciated the original art at the Potencia Fair

There were 45 entrepreneurs from missions and areas of the departments declared in social and health emergency who participated in the third edition of the Potencia Fair, an event that brought together more than 450 thousand Salteños at the Convention Center.

The Ava Guaraní and Wichí ethnic vendors belonged to the communities of Orán, San Martín, Embarcación, Aguaray, Tartagal, General Ballivián, Santa Victoria Este, General Mosconi, Rivadavia Banda Sur and Coronel Juan Solá.

The body in charge of the secretary of the Delegation of Indigenous Affairs, Marcelo Cordova coordinated the accommodation of the entrepreneurs, transportation logistics with 13 municipalities and the provision of food during their stay in the Capital.

In addition, all members of the Delegation contributed to the decoration of the sales stalls, the distribution of food and the provision of assistance in case of any mishap.

Pierre Herrouet, general director of Productive Development, expressed his satisfaction with the sales achieved by the entrepreneurs, as well as the efficient logistical coordination established with the municipalities and the Argentine Army, which collaborated by providing accommodation.

“The participation of the original merchants was very positive because they sold more than 70 percent of the products and, in particular, the sales of honey produced in the Chaco of Salta, basketry made of rattan, and children’s clothing made of wool stood out. , wooden tableware, leather goods and elements made with chaguar such as yisca,” explained Herrouet.

In this sense, the director highlighted that Salta, through Potencia, facilitated a strong marketing channel that was highly beneficial for merchants. “The original entrepreneurs were able to secure new orders that they will soon ship from their region,” he said.

This was expressed by the Wichí entrepreneur and artist Dora Fernández, from Embarcación, who exhibited a representative work of the face of General Güemes made with natural fibers and dyes and ceramics.

“It was an enriching meeting and the artisan team is grateful to the provincial government for allowing the indigenous communities to be part of this celebration. “It is gratifying to be able to express our creativity as artists taking into account our cultural identity,” he said.

For her part, the 75-year-old indigenous Tatagalense entrepreneur, Jorgelina Pérez, expressed that it was her first visit to Salta as an artisan. “I liked talking to people and I sold my products with great enthusiasm, it was a nice experience,” she said.

“In the Kilómetro 5 community, there are many working women who, day after day, make an effort and keep our heads held high to ensure sustenance that is shared with family members. Every morning I make crafts, very early,” she said.

Finally, the seller of natural cosmetics from Oran, Denisa Aráoz, stated that there were three profitable days for sales and the people of Salta were able to learn about organic, handmade products to exfoliate and hydrate the skin and hair.

“On this occasion I brought solid shampoo, body oils with different properties, aromatherapy essences, soaps and perfumes. We also share knowledge about the damage caused by many commercial products that contain chemicals and cause problems for the skin and the environment,” he concluded.
