They seek to recover spaces in Bucaramanga with murals

The Instutober Corporation, which also leads the Pinta la Bonita’ Festival, aims to carry out social work in which communities are linked to the art of graffiti and from them ideas arise to recover spaces.

The artists aim to recover spaces with color and art.

In your neighborhood or sector are there spaces that could be recovered with the graffiti technique? Would you like to be part of a social movement that wants to change the face of Bucaramanga? The Instutober Corporation intends to lead a project in which neighborhoods or sectors of the city are painted with color and stories are told through graffiti.

The idea of the Corporation, led by Andrés Armando Duarte Prieto, is to create murals with narratives in which the community is involved, opening spaces for joint creation so that the inhabitants of the sector participate in the idea of how to beautify some critical points with art and color.

“The idea is that private and public companies are linked to begin to recover these spaces in the city, just as we did with the mural of the Cárcel Modelo,” said Duarte Prieto.

The Instutober Corporation has already been leading initiatives, among which is the Pinta la Bonita Festival, which had the participation of more than 55 local and national artists, who took over various parts of Bucaramanga, intervened in 33 properties and transformed them into murals loaded with art.

“The best thing about this is that citizens take care of these spaces, because we recover them and they are beautiful for the city. Another of the ideas we have is to recover 45th Street, the Campohermoso neighborhood and recover the center of Bucaramanga to turn it into a tourist attraction,” said Duarte Prieto.

The intervention on 45th Street is intended to be incorporated into what would be the ‘Grafitour’, which would start right on this street, Carrera 9 and the city center to the Casa de Simón Bolívar Museum. These sectors would be intervened with murals, so that tourists can take a walking tour and integrate with the urban art and history of the city.

“When we are going to carry out interventions, the spaces must be recovered with works, that is why we ask for the support of public or private companies to carry out the project,” Duarte concluded.

The Instutober Corporation is looking for sponsors to develop the ‘Graffitour’ that aims to connect 45th Street with Carrera 9 and the center of Bucaramanga.

The festival is coming in October

The Instutober Corporation is already planning for the month of October to hold the Pinta la Bonita Festival, which on this occasion would take place on Calle de Los Estudiantes, in the Royal Citadel of Minas, where an intervention of about 2.5 kilometers of murals would be carried out.

“This would be the first graphic urban art gallery that would be made on Calle de Los Estudiantes. We will look for spaces in some schools and we hope that those who want to join contact us,” said Andrés Armando Duarte Prieto of the Corporation.

To advance the entire preparation process, it is also necessary to have support from a private or public company, because it is necessary to make an inventory of the spaces, evaluate which of them require works such as facade repairs, to leave the stage ready as such. way for artists to come and apply their magic.
