“There is a district of San Rafael called Punta del Agua. In 1996, an aqueduct was built there that brings mineral spring water to the Pampas towns of Santa Isabel and Algarrobo del Águila.with the objective of providing service to 6,000 people,” described Villegas, who added that this original idea has been distorted and that is why Mendoza went to court.
“That agreement linked to the aqueduct was signed when the governor was Rodolfo Gabrielli (…), at the time when the Los Nihuiles complex became the property of Mendoza and could thus be privatized. What Mendoza denounces
What Mendoza is now denouncing is that La Pampa fails to comply with that agreement because – always according to the version of the Cuyo province – two companies in Santa Isabel that “through a reverse osmosis process” package the water from the aqueduct in 20-liter drums and sell them.
