Director Daniel Rojas led the delivery of two seized buildings that will now be residences for indigenous students from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta
Last Friday, June 7, one day before Fallen Student Day was commemorated, the economist Daniel Rojas, who from the Special Assets Society (SAE) is one of the officials who has had the most play during the entire Petro government , arrived in Santa Marta with his team to meet with Pablo Vera Salazar, the rector of the University of Magdalena and together to finalize a delivery of properties for one of the most important public higher education institutions in the Caribbean Region.
This is not the first time that Rojas has coordinated an event of these characteristics, since in the almost two years that Petro has been in the Casa de Nariño he has been one of the great people in charge of the defense of public education, one of the great pillars of the President’s speech, become a reality. During this time, institutions such as the University of Antioquia, the University of Valle, the University of Caldas, the University of Atlántico, the Industrial University of Santander or the Francisco José de Caldas District have benefited from properties or buildings, most of which belonged to the drug trafficking and that had been seized by the SAE.
On this occasion, the seized property corresponds to two buildings, a hotel seized from the Pachencas gang and a building seized from the pensions cartel, both in Santa Marta, which will now be converted into student residences from which the students will benefit. of indigenous communities of the Sierra Nevada of the University.
